In agriculture Census, the Government of India has categorised the
Farmers in five size classes for the newly launched Pradhan Mantri
Samman Nidhi Scheme. On recommendations of Govt of India as per survey
Farmers are categorized in Marginal, Small, Semi, Medium & Large
categories according to their land. As per Annual Budget announcement as
shown under. Based on the communique the India Rural Development Report
2012-13 is released in support on Central Government support. The
report prepared by the IDFC Rural Development Network categorizing the
Farmers.
Farmers Categories Eligible for RS 6000 Support
Earlier Goyal proposed the Pradhan Mantri Samman Nidhi scheme 2019
through which direct income support of Rs 6,000 per year to small and
medium farmers who hold less than two hectares of land being provided.
The Railway Minister Piyush Goyal said the scheme is going to be
rolled out from starting December 1, 2018 and that the amount will be
transferred directly into the banks of beneficiary farmers in three
installments of Rs 2,000 each shortly. The Survey & proceedings
through Online State Govt Portals are going to begin shortly.
Pardhan Mantri Samman Nidhi Scheme 2019
NOTE- The scheme will benefit 12 crore farmer families and will cost the public exchequer a whopping Rs 75,000 crore.
